We are looking for an automation engineer with expertise within Deployment to join our Delivery Automation team to transform IT Banking Platforms by improving software tooling and processes, aiming for DevOps. The three main components of successful DevOps are commonly cited as tools/technology, process and culture, enabling good CI/CD practices. Automation is the primary goal with tools that enable us to automate manual tasks, establishing the processes that allow us to take advantage of this automation.

We need a talented, multi-disciplinary engineer with deployment expertise who’s able to use and improve a continuous integration process married with a solid continuous deploy and release strategy, while having the ability to upskill and advice on best practice and strategy. Your passion for automation for Build, Test and Deployment will be anchored in different orchestration technologies to be able to give informed advice.

You should apply if you have

• A good understanding on DevOps, Agile and combination concepts
• Good hands on experience on continuous delivery and deployment with technologies such as XL Deploy or UrbanCode Deploy, tool implementation and configuration
• The ability to set up best practices by setting deployment standards, quality controls and checks
• Have experience of Release process automation for complex deliveries across domains (web, .net, mainframe) and use/configuration of tools such as UrbanCode Release, XL Release, ServiceNow/Change Mgmt.
• Experience of automation using shell scripts, plugins, tool integration using REST API
• Experience on DevOps tools like Bitbucket, Jenkins/Bamboo, Maven, Nexus (Release artefact repository and package management)
• Experience with integrating test automation frameworks into various systems within CI/CD pipelines
• Experience in automation of build of application using modern build and dependency management tools like Gradle or Maven
• Preferred Languages: Shell Scripting in BASH
• Experience in Linux and Windows Operating system (Minimum 3 years of experience)
• Good knowledge of WAS, Websphere and any Web application server
• JAVA knowledge (Nice to have)
• Good communication skills - verbal and written - with the ability to collaborate well in a team and across organizations and locations

We have following tools heavily in use that you may be exposed to: Python, Java, JIRA, Git, Bitbucket, Nexus, Bamboo, Jenkins, Maven, Robot framework, Selenium, SonarQube, jmeter, XLDeploy, UrbandCode Deploy/Release etc.

Qualifications we are looking for

• Technical Degree in Computer Science or relevant qualifications
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in Deployment of applications using deployment tools
• Experience in documentation of IT processes, methodology, procedures, environments and security management
• Experience in working with a centralized team towards distributed teams
• Comfortable with multi-tasking in a busy day with parallel threads
• Experience in interaction with multiple vendors, stakeholders for various tasks
