We are searching for the right person to fill the role as Department Manager in the Manufacturing and Test Department. In this role, you will be a part of the Kongsberg Maritime, Sensors & Robotics, Supply Chain team, delivering world leading underwater acoustic sensors to the maritime business. 

As Department Manager you will be responsible for on time delivery of complex acoustic sensors and systems such as Echosounders and Sonars. In this position you are also involved in development and industrialization of new acoustic sensors and systems. Success will come from communicating clear goals and objectives, a strong focus on teamwork, managing competencies and continuous improvements. We are now looking for a manager who is passionate about people management and who thrives under challenges.

Key accountabilities

• You will manage a department of about 50 people, organized in a cross functional structure. You will have two team managers reporting to you, who are responsible for personnel, competencies and common processes, as well as four team leaders responsible for products and deliveries.
• You will ensure on time delivery
• Responsible for department budget - establish, follow up and reporting
• Continous improvements – promote improvement culture
• Collaboration with departments involved in Horten to ensure quality delivery
• Develop competencies and technical solutions to implement and improve new or existing processes
• Focus on HSE in day-to-day delivery

Qualifications and experience

• Good technical understanding (Technical Bachelor, however solid experience can compensate for lack of formal technical education)
• Management experience from a production environment
• Good understanding of ERP systems
• Fluent in Norwegian, both verbal and in writing
• Good in English, both verbal and in writing
• Can tackle challenges with confidence and a goal oriented mindset
