To further strengthen our world-leading professional community within applied maritime cybernetics we are currently looking for ambitious and talented cybernetics professionals to join our team.

 

What will you be working on?

You will be contributing at the cutting edge of research-based and market-oriented innovation, working with exciting and challenging R&D problems in applied maritime cybernetics, following the solutions all the way from newly hatched ideas into finished market products.

Kongsberg Maritime is the world leader within Professional Positioning with over 4000 DP systems delivered. You will be contributing to developing new solutions for remote control, guidance and control of mission equipment, enhancing mission critical operations, energy optimization, and bringing to market our next generation dynamic positioning system.

Kongsberg Maritime is developing control systems for low-manned / unmanned ships, and we hold the world’s first contracts for commercial delivery of autonomous vessels. You will be contributing to a number of development activities and delivery projects with a focus on integrated sensor technology, automated transit and docking, and collision avoidance.

 

Who are you

  • Well-rounded individual with a strong collaborative mindset.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbally and written
  • Ambitious, self-driven and confident in own technical expertise
  • Engineering doctor’s/master’s degree in cybernetics, marine cybernetics or equivalent with emphasis on nonlinear and/or predictive control methods
  • Competence, interest and experience with marine surface applications of cybernetics
  • Experience with Matlab/Simulink and C/C++ programming
