Driven Commercial Head with a high level of business acumen and excellent leadership skills.

We are looking for a highly driven, people focused Commercial Head to join the leadership team of our 2 ships on the Amsterdam – Newcastle route.

The Commercial Head will be part of a team of 3 Commercial Heads responsible the onboard services department across both vessels. As such you will be part of both the Shipboard Management, and Route Leadership Teams.

It is expected that the Commercial Head possess the ability to add value and growth by identifying new commercial opportunities and managing onboard sales and service activities. *
You will closely monitor the commercial performance onboard and be the driver for establishing both short and long-term goals and objectives.

As a successful Commercial Head, you must have an open mindset with strong leadership skills along with excellent organizational abilities. You must be able to evaluate and identify opportunities which can be used commercially to improve both the customer and employee experience.

Your essential duties and responsibilities will be:

• Develop and implement commercial strategies according to DFDS’ goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth onboard.
• Build and maintain strong and profitable relationships with key stakeholders.
• Lead and motivate Business Leaders, to ensure departmental and personal development are key success factors and that engagement, satisfaction and loyalty are high.
• Contribute to setting financial target and budgets for the ships and route.
• Closely monitor prediction models and follow-up on cost-levels to ensure corrective actions are taken.

We expect you to have:

• Minimum of 5 year experience with similar jobs and leadership scope
• A proven track record in managing and motivating people
• Ability to interact with all levels of the organization, both ship and shore
• Experience in performance reporting and financial/budgeting processes
• In-depth understanding for sales, service, best practice and performance culture
• Commercial awareness with a strategic mindset
