Automation & Electrical Engineer

Kongsberg Maritime is seeking a skilled Automation & Electrical engineer to join our Thruster system -Product Management team.
In this position, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining advanced electrical and control systems. By collaborating closely with internal colleagues and interacting with external customers, classification societies, and suppliers, you will contribute to enhancing our system solutions. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance and reliability for the thruster electrical steering and control system.
Responsibilities
- Develop, create and maintain system design and documentation
- Develop, test and troubleshoot PLC systems
- Integrate software and hardware components to create cohesive solutions
- Conduct testing and verification to ensure requirements are met.
- Support customers and internal stakeholders
- Support and take lead in complex problem solving
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in the field of Electrical, Software or Automation engineering
- Experience in development, design and maintenance of electrical and automation systems
- Experience in CoDesys and PLC programming
- Experience with configuration of variable speed drives
- Experience with fieldbus and industrial ethernet communication protocols i.e. CanOpen and Profinet
- Previous experience in maritime business and EPlan or other Ecad tool is considered as an advantage
- Good communication skills in English

Work location Preferable Ulsteinvik or Ålesund, Norway. Other KM locations in Nordics can be considered.
