Associate Sales Manager - Marine

Jotun Liger (Malaysia and Singapore) took effect from 01 July 2016. The business administration in these 2 countries has been consolidated as one unit and manages by the same management team. The legal setup is to be maintained as is with 2 separate entities for statutory purposes. Performance of the business will be measured as one unit with the consolidated results.

After the establishment of Jotun Liger, the organization is now expected to deliver strong growth while continuously improve on efficiency and profitability.

Today, Jotun Liger is the largest company and one of the main profit contributors in SEAP with total sales of NOK 1,346 Million and EBITA NOK 209K in 2019.

This position is responsible for sales coverage of ship owners, ship managers, shipbuilders, dealers, and other related fields by promoting and selling Jotun Marine Paints to reach sales budgets and increase market share.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Promote and sell Marine coatings to existing and potential customers by introducing new products and monitor that projects are carried out in accordance to specifications so as to increase market share, achieve sales budget, EBIT margin and ensure prompt collection.
  • Utilize and implement Marine concepts (i.e. NB, SS, DD, Tankcoating, KAM, Dealer and Coastal Line), which ensures customers satisfactions and loyalty towards Jotun.
  • Contact point for MASA and relevant marine community to maintain Jotun relationship with key players and involvement in their activities to expand Jotun coverage to new projects and potential customers     
  • To be proficient in company system, such as CRM, Fleetlist, Forecast etc to ensure work scope are performed under company required structure and direction.
  • Monitor collection to ensure customer payment is received within agreed timeframe to achieve budgeted days of outstanding.
  • Provide excellent support on guiding and coaching to new comers / junior to ensure overall contribution in Liger Marine Sales Department.
  • Provide excellent support on agreed strategic plans given by Liger Marine Management to ensure good implementation to achieve company objective and desired results.
  • Build up long term good relationship with key persons in owners by regularly visiting and activities. 
  • Achieve agreed gross margin and ensure business profitability is in line with company direction.
  • Ensure presence of Jotun is geographically covered by developing and growing wide dealer network in nationwide Malaysia.
  • Ensure timely delivery and good customer service by coordinating with Customer Service & Distribution Dept., Laboratory, Technical Service , Technical Sales Support and other departments.                              
Qualifications
  • Bachelor Degree in  Mechatronic / Maritime/ Mechanical Engineering / Business Administration/ Sales & Marketing Management.
  • At least 4-6 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position. 
  • Prefer experience in marine industry and  procurement industry /with strong marine or shipping customer contact base
  • Possess excellent interpersonal, communication, marketing and negotiation skill.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office application.
  • Successful candidates will be based in Shah Alam, Selangor
