Associate Professor/ Senior Lecturer in strategy, entrepreneurship and Innovation

The Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship has 2-3 vacancies at the Oslo campus as an Associate Professor / Senior Lecturer within the subject areas of strategy, entrepreneurship and / or innovation. The positions will primarily contribute to strengthening the teaching of our bachelor's programs in digital business and entrepreneurship.

The Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at BI Norwegian Business School covers the academic fields of strategy, innovation and entrepreneurship. The Department's ambition is to increase academic and practical relevance through high quality research and active collaboration with business and the public sector. Key research topics at the Department include business models, technology innovation and digitalization, international business and organization, entrepreneurship, alliances, networks, acquisitions, health innovation, knowledge-based strategy, strategy processes and clusters / framework conditions. Competence related to digital business is considered an advantage and is a prerequisite for at least one of the positions.

To the position as Associate Professor applicants must have a relevant PhD or equivalent. For candidates to the Associate Professor position, we seek persons with a documented ability to publish high-quality research in leading journals beyond the PhD thesis.

For Senior Lecturer, we are looking for a documented ability to publish pedagogical works and cases aimed at teaching, as well as good pedagogical skills in the delivery of teaching both digitally and in the classroom / auditorium. Also, for pedagogical positions, research competence, for example a doctoral degree, will be assessed positively. BI may also consider appointing candidates to a Lecturer position with qualification requirements, if the assessment of relevant candidates indicates this.

It is desirable that applicants can undertake teaching assignments across a wide range of study programs, and will be central in the management and development of BI's Bachelor in Digital Business and Bachelor in Entrepreneurship programs. The teaching takes place in both Norwegian and English, and candidates who have a command of a Scandinavian language will have an advantage. Documented experience with interactive and process-oriented teaching methods, knowledge of and interest in modern pedagogical approaches, as well as the development of study programs, are given weight.

It is expected that the person appointed has the ability and willingness to actively contribute to the Department's academic community, as well as the development of BI's interfaces with ecosystems for digital business development and entrepreneurship in the Oslo region. In addition, the positions may involve collaboration with BI's other campuses and associated environments.

 

Competence assessment is carried out in accordance with the usual rules for academic and pedagogical positions at universities and scientific colleges. Further specification of research qualification requirements for the positions has been prepared and will be sent to applicants by request. The position is linked to the Government Pension Fund. Salary on agreement.

We are primarily looking for people who have an interest in teaching and ambitions for the development and strengthening of our offers in the bachelor area where we need more capacity. Women are encouraged to apply.

If applicants for the position of associate professor cannot refer to international research, BI will consider hiring for a temporary postdoctoral position and the person in question will be given a permanent position if a scientific qualification requirement has been achieved, a maximum of 4 years. /
