Associate professor in the field of entrepreneurship

The Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship is seeking to expand their resource capacity within the academic discipline of Entrepreneurship.

The Department of Strategy and Entrepreneurship at BI Norwegian Business School manages the fields of strategy, innovation and entrepreneurship. The department's ambition is to increase academic and practical relevance through high quality research and active collaboration with business and the public sector. Key research topics at the department include business models, technology and digitization, international trade and organization, entrepreneurship, alliances, networks, and acquisitions, health innovation, knowledge-based strategy, strategy processes and clusters / framework conditions. Interest and competence in digital business is considered an advantage.

Applicants must have a doctorate or equivalent. The Department is looking for candidates with a documented ability to publish high-quality research in leading journals and with documented good pedagogical skills in the delivery of teaching both digitally and in the classroom / auditorium.

It is desirable that applicants can undertake teaching assignments across a wide range of study programs, and will be central in the management and development of BI's Bachelor in Entrepreneurship. The right candidate may also play an important role in bridging our Bachelor in Entrepreneurship with our MSc in Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

For the Bachelor in Entrepreneurship, the teaching takes place largely in Norwegian and applicants should therefore master a Scandinavian language. Documented experience with interactive and process-oriented teaching methods, teaching of large classes, knowledge of and interest in modern pedagogical approaches, as well as the development of study programs, are central qualities desired for this position.

It is expected that the person appointed has the ability and willingness to actively contribute to the department's academic environment, as well as the desire and development of BI's interface with the ecosystem for entrepreneurship in Oslo and Norway. In addition, the position involves collaboration with BI's other campuses and associated environments to actively contributing in building the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

BI is now further developing BI Start-up, the students' arena for entrepreneurship, with workshops, courses and office spaces for student companies, as well as collaboration with business and technology environments, and the right candidate will play a key role in this work.

Motivated candidates can count on exciting challenges in a complex, dynamic and stimulating professional environment. BI will emphasize whether applicants have collaborated with the private business sector and / or the public sector, including collaboration related to R&D, research dissemination and research-based consultancy.

Competence assessment is carried out in accordance with the usual rules for academic and pedagogical positions at universities and scientific colleges. The position is linked to our current Pension Fund and is paid by agreement.

We are primarily looking for people who have an interest in both research and teaching with ambitions for contributing in the development and strengthening of our offer in the bachelor area where we need more capacity.
