The department of Economics at Bl Norwegian Business School has a vacant position as Associate Professor in Economics at campus Bergen. The position will be organizationally affiliated with campus Bergen but also with the department of Economics in Oslo. The successful applicant must hold a doctoral degree, have a strong research record and possess very good pedagogical skills. Experience with teaching at bachelor level will be given weight.

Further qualifications include experience from business-relevant research and studies, international research network, and English language skills. A track-record of international work experience and collaboration with the business or public sector, including R&D work, research dissemination and research-based advisory services, is appreciated.

The successful applicant will be expected to make an active contribution towards developing the school's academic environment on both the research and teaching sides. Faculty is expected to participate at the department's research seminars. Teaching duties at all levels must be expected although most of the teaching will be at Bachelor level. Duties will also include supervision of students.

All faculty must hold a basic level of pedagogical qualification in accordance with governmental provisions. Applicants must submit systematically documentation of their training/experience in course development, different teaching activities, grading and tutoring. Candidates may obtain this competence within two years after entering an associate professor position.

At Bl Norwegian Business School today, bachelor level classes are predominantly taught in Norwegian and master classes are taught in English. Norwegian language is appreciated and applicants must be able to teach in Norwegian within 4 years. Language classes are sponsored by Bl Norwegian Business School.

Scientific competence will be evaluated in accordance with the ordinary regulations for academic positions at universities and specialized university institutions.
