An exciting opportunity has arisen as Workshop Engineer in the After Market Support team in Bergen. You will have the opportunity to contribute in the development of lifecycle service offerings to Kongsberg Maritime drives power modules. You will participate in taking ownership of the workshop activities, where you actively will develop and sell maintenance & repair solutions to customers and contribute to build good customer relationships. As Workshop Engineer you will be part of the division Global Customer Support which is responsible for Kongsberg Maritimes services, upgrades, and support in the aftermarket. The business unit you will be supporting, Energy Products, provides a complete portfolio of electrification, drives -and energy storage products for marine applications. The new Energy product range includes switchboards, electric drives, batteries with a unique approach to energy management and integration with overall vessel control. We aim to pave the way for more efficient operation and design of the energy system.

 

Key accountabilities

• Further develop Kongsberg Maritimes proactive lifecycle services for high power modules and frequency drives
• Service work in our workshop and onboard vessels and installations
• Participate in testing, repair, and verification of new and overhauled power modules
• Pre-configuration of Spareparts, Application software & hardware

 

Qualifications and experience

• Experience with frequency converter commissioning, service, or repair
• Electrician Certificate of apprenticeship (Gr.L/ ship electrician or automation) 
• Experience from the maritime industry or similar industries
• Knowledge of software programming is an advantage
• Technical education within electro, system engineering or other relevant education is an advantage
• Being able to obtain offshore/marine health certificate
• Fluent written and oral communication skills in English
• The position will involve some travelling
