VP Operations

Jern, stål og metaller - Produksjon

Our current VP Operations is taking on new responsibilities internally, and we are searching for his replacement. As our next VP Operations you will have the overall responsibility of a broad spectrum of projects and you will be part of the divisions Management Team, reporting directly to the SVP Elkem Carbon Solutions.

The main purpose of this role is the continued improvement of the operations within Carbon Solutions. We are looking for a candidate that has the capability to understand and support the strategic goals and direction of the Division. Focusing on how operational excellence, research and technology improvements support implementing the strategy.

Most important areas of responsibility

  • To ensure safe, healthy and environmentally compliant operations
  • Support and work with the Plant Management teams to continually improve and produce the products at benchmark quality and costs according to customer demand 
  • Support and driving the sharing of knowledge across plants through the use of the LEAN manufacturing (EBS)
  • Ensure excellent Project Management practices are implemented and adhered to when proposing and executing projects 
  • Coordinate the central operations team to support and ensure cost improvements, technology and process improvements are implemented
  • Drive the digitisation strategy of Elkem to prepare the plants and processes for the future
  • Give input and direction to Divisional Team on operational capabilities and product development to drive the growth in the business 
  • Drive innovation in the division

Desired experience and qualifications

  • University degree, preferably engineer background
  • Technical knowledge of operations
  • LEAN manufacturing
  • Project Management
  • Good communication and teaching skills 
  • Fluency in English (mandatory) 

We are looking for a person with a high work capacity who likes to work with people from different cultures.

This position requires some travelling to our plants in Brazil, South Africa, China and Malaysia.
