Two 3-years postdoc positions are available in the project group of Dr. Marina Vietri at The Department of Molecular Cell Biology, Institute for Cancer Research, Oslo. The project group is part of the Cellular Membrane Dynamics team led by Prof. Harald Stenmark. Our group is interested in understanding the connection between the dynamics of cellular membranes and cancer development.

The Institute for Cancer Research is part of the Oslo University Hospital, the largest academic hospital in Scandinavia. Our group is also member of a Norwegian Centre of Excellence (Centre for Cancer Cell Reprogramming, CanCell) funded by the Norwegian Research Council, and consisting of six groups which study molecular mechanisms of tumorigenesis (membrane dynamics, signaling pathways, chromatin regulation, metabolism).

Kvalifikasjoner:

  • Completed (or very close to completing) a doctoral degree in molecular cell biology or equivalent.
  • Self-driven, enthusiastic person with the ability to think and work independently. Result oriented, well organized.
  • Team player and with good communication skills.
  • Experience in advanced microscopy techniques and image analysis.
  • Experience in cloning techniques.
  • Good English oral and written skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in the fields of DNA damage/ chromatin biology/ cellular membranes biology/ cell division is an advantage.
  • Experience in generation of transgenic cell lines (transduction with lentivirus or similar) or in gene editing is an advantage.
