Job description

The technical department of Statkraft´s region Sweden (PST) supports projects, daily operation in power plant groups and support daily operation in dispatch centre. Our portfolio consists of hydropower plants from Lagan to Skellefteälven as well as four wind farms. The unit has a broad geographical, organisational and technical scope. Our key customers are the operating units within the business area Production in Sweden.

Your role

Do you want to kick start your career with Europe’s largest generator of renewable energy? We are looking for a trainee to strengthen the Statkraft team in Sweden. During your trainee program, you will be learning Statkraft´s business and processes and build a wide network across Statkraft. Your home department will be the unit for Civil engineering. The home location could be either Laholm, Sollefteå, or Östersund.

After the training period tasks will typically include:

• Project work, Dam safety development, international collaboration, risk analyses in connection to Ridas (Dam safety regulations)

Your profile

• University or master's degree in engineering (preferably civil or mechanical) with outstanding results and ambitions
• Strong interest in the fundamental drivers of the energy markets, power generation and delivering the energy transition.
• Excellent analytical skills and strong commercial sense
• Result and self-driven team player with very good communications skills across very diverse target groups
• You are fluent in Swedish and English language. Other languages such as German, Spanish, Portuguese or Hindi will be an advantage but not a requirement
• Flexibility regarding tasks and working location during the trainee-period

About the International Trainee Programme

The objective of the programme is to develop young talents in the best way possible, and provide insight into our entire operations and value chain. It is a one-year programme with three different work rotations of four months, of which at least one will be abroad. The programme is tailored to the trainee’s background and the unit’s competence needs. As a trainee you will attend regular courses and social gatherings where the trainee group meets to acquire new skills and share experiences. Upon completion of the programme you are offered a permanent position in the department where you will continue to work in a new position.
