Kongsberg Maritime is now hiring a test engineer for a very exciting development project. You will be contributing to the test strategy and will work side by side with fellow testers designing, developing and implementing innovative test frameworks and methods for our next generation real time platform.

The perfect candidate has a genuine interest for testing and the systems engineering process, whether experienced or just graduated, and would define himself as a bug hunter that loves to challenge developer’s outcome.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Review of system requirements to ensure testability
• Contribute to define the test strategy
• Design and implement test procedures
• Contribute to create and maintain the test automation framework
• Develop and maintain automatic test suites
• Execute test procedures and report test results

 

Qualification and Experience

Required

• Relevant technical degree or higher (relevant experience can compensate for lack of formal education)
• Knowledge of software and system development processes
• Knowledge of Python language and interest in writing good ‘pythonic’ code. Very good knowledge in another scripting or programming language can compensate
• Knowledge of OSI network layers, and practical skills with Wireshark or other network packet analysis tools
• Knowledge of communication buses such as Profibus, CANbus, Modbus, NMEA, etc. Practical experience is desired

 

Desired

• ISTQB Foundation Level certified
• Knowledge or experience with automation systems, test automation, Azure DevOps and Git
• Good understanding and experience with Linux operating system
• Basic knowledge of electronics
