Nexans’ submarine power cables are key in the transition to more renewable energy whether connecting islands to the mainland or bringing green energy from the offshore wind farm to the grid. In cooperation with our world-wide customers we push technological boundaries to go deeper, longer, at higher voltages and to provide turn-key solutions for installation and protection to meet future needs.

About the Department:

The IMR (Inspection Maintenance and Repair) department basis consists of a team of engineers specialized in the defined areas of marine and land based cable installations and cable technical specialties. There is also a dedicated sales position to drive the sales and marketing activities of the business area. Together, the team is responsible for developing Nexans IMR solutions with input to turnkey cable supply tenders and stand-alone IMR projects. Typical clients are transmission and power generating companies world-wide, new and existing Clients and projects. Projects range from interconnectors between countries or continents, to offshore wind power export lines or array cables.

The department's key area of responsibilities are to front Clients requests and establish long and short term solutions for EPCI and IMR projects, participate in contract negotiations, work out and establish routines and prepare organization for compliance and commitments Activate IMR projects by establishing short term repair teams. The department is participating in projects to establish IMR during EPCI stage, and are at the front-line after projects closing.

About the Position:

As the IMR Tender Manager you will be a member of the team established to drive and develop Nexans IMR business. You will be working crosswise departments to coordinate competence. You will represent the IMR department tender activities internally and externally , EPCI and/or stand alone, building tender submittals, leading or participating actively in the tender process. You will be responsible of start-up of the IMR activities after signing an IMR contract. You will also be a point of contact for clients and the market.

Your responsibilities and tasks:

  • Responsible for understanding and defining the scope of work related to Client’s request.
  • Study specifications, requirements, proposed contract and schedule
  • Propose solutions for the IMR of both Submarine and Underground cables
  • Prepare cost assessments
  • Evaluate risks associated with the proposed solutions
  • Participate in site visits, meetings and negotiations with clients and possible subcontractors
  • Participate and represent IMR in exhibitions
  • Handover of work to the Project organization

Qualifications:

  • A Master of Science degree in either Civil, Marine, Mechanical, Electrical (HV), or similar
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant Experience
  • Project engineering and site experience from cable installation or similar projects is required
  • Good oral and written skills in Norwegian and English
  • The candidate must to be able to cooperate well with colleagues in Nexans
  • Need good communication skills and ability to communicate with clients and possible subcontractors
