An exciting opportunity has arisen as Technical Product Manager with us at Kongsberg Maritime. You will be the main technical authority for the Open Ocean Aquaculture segment in our Deck Machinery and Motion Control division (DMMC). The division is responsible for product and technology development, supply chain operations and project delivery for all Kongsberg Maritime’s winches and handling solutions.

The Open Ocean Aquaculture is an emerging market - important to reach the UN sustainability target. You will be a key player in developing this segment and embark on a new era in Aquaculture. You will engage with ongoing and future research supporting Aquaculture products in Kongsberg Maritime.

 We are looking for a functional leader with a strong technical background to lead the product development and management of the product family. We are in a phase where digitalization, connectivity and integration are crucial for KONGSBERG’s success. You will be the focal point for KONGSBERG and external partners on technical and product cost issues.

Key Accountabilities

• Technical authority for the product area and safety lead for the Aquaculture systems
• Manage and supervise development projects and life cycle within own product area
• Define product vision, roadmap and strategies, including assessing and addressing technical -and product risks
• Study market requirements and technologies and come up with new ways to improve the company’s products
• Translating business requirements into technical requirements
• Maintenance and continuous improvement of existing products

Qualifications and experience

• Preferably, a degree in automation or mechanical engineering
• Oral and written communication skills in English and Norwegian
• Experience with winch systems, deck machinery or other relevant Kongsberg systems
• It is considered an advantage if you have experience with:
• Winch systems, deck machinery or other relevant Kongsberg systems
• Marine and offshore operations
• Technical product management and customer contact
• System design and validation methods, such as simulation, FMEA and control systems
• Knowledge of rules and regulations for the above product areas
