Tax Manager / Senior Tax Manager

Kongsberg Gruppen ASA is looking for a Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager to join our Group Tax Function. We need a new team member, with a generalist mindset covering direct tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing etc., to provide proactive advice and compliance support for  all group entities in general, and with a primary responsibility for our fast growing Business Area – Kongsberg Digital (KDI).

As Tax Manager / Senior Tax Manager you will report to Head of Tax in Kongsberg Gruppen ASA. You will proactively support on commercial contracts with regards to flow of goods and services, indirect taxes, withholding tax, and permanent establishment and other transaction related domestic, as well as other global tax issues. You will support on M&A opportunities, capital and legal structuring set-up and tax optimization in general. Further, you will monitor and support in the areas of tax compliance, tax reporting, and transfer pricing.


Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Develop strong working relationships with business, finance, and tax leadership across the global organization of KDI and collaborate on significant tax matters affecting the operations,
  • Review commercial contracts and agreements, step plans, and other documentations to ensure tax regulations are complied with, and that goods, service and cash flows are optimized with regards to indirect taxes, WHT and other transaction taxes and duties,
  • Consider permanent establishment exposures, transfer pricing and allocation issues to PEs and/or subsidiaries, and tax credit opportunities,
  • Support tax operations, hereunder compliance, provisioning, disclosures, notices, audits, disputes, and settlements; provide strategic support, assist with and lead the development and review of relevant tax audit information requests,
  • Proactively work with business to structure operations to promote tax efficiency and mitigate tax risk,
  • Review relevant tax filings for completeness and technical accuracy including proper elections, disclosures and adherence to established tax policies and processes,
  • Work closely with and manage tax advisers when required.

Qualifications:

  • Law or master graduate with professional qualifications from a university or similar institution
  • Minimum 4 years' tax experience in a related field, gained either from a top-tier Law Firm, Firm of accountants or from within a multinational group
  • Experience in domestic and international direct and indirect taxes,
  • Experience with commercial contracts and negotiations of tax regulations,
  • Preferably some experience with tax governance and transfer pricing
  • Knowledge of financial accounts in general,
  • Strong communications skills

You have good business understanding and good analytical skills. You need strong communications skills in both Norwegian and English, and have the ability to relate well to people at all levels and to establish networks
