Site Director

This newly created role is to control and oversee all business operations, people and ventures of Norvalves.  You will ultimately be responsible for the success of the organisation and report to the President of Ham-Let, Europe. 

You will be a strategist and a leader in steering the company in the most profitable direction whilst ensuring the Company is constantly moving forwards to fulfil its short and long term goals. Working in all areas of manufacturing, you will be overseeing purchasing, research & development, engineering, quality and HR.

The new Site Director will join the executive board of Norvales.

Responsibilities and tasks
  • Develop and execute the Company’s business strategies alongside the President; Europe.
  • Develop and maintain research and development programmes to ensure that the Company remains at the forefront in the industry.
  • Apply most cost-effective methods and approaches to provide leading-edge products and services and retains its ‘competitive edge’.
  • Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement.
  • Ensure Company policies and guidelines are always implemented and followed.
  • Communicate and maintain trust relationships with employees, business partners and authorities.
  • Ensure manufacturing performance and quality goals are met.
  • Provide consistent leadership and support through planning, purchasing, engineering and quality assurance. 
  • Continuously look at ways of improving procedures, in line with Company goals to increase revenue. 
Qualifications
  • Strong engineering and manufacturing management experience from the oil & gas industry (Lean experience).
  • Experience from managing research & development.
  • Strong technical background, with a relevant engineering degree (machinery or similar). 
  • Have a solid financial acumen. 
  • In depth knowledge of relevant markets and changing business environments.
  • Good IT knowledge. 
  • Fluent verbal and written English and Norwegian. 
  • Knowledge of valve/flow systems is desirable.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to interact well at all levels. 
  • Ability to develop and motivate workforce, and thereby create strong teams. 
  • Driven by change and able to implement new ideas and strategies (forward thinking).
  • Strong problem solving abilities. 
  • Confident in planning and forecasting.
  • Commercial mind-set.
  • High level of integrity and ethical awareness.
