Senior Python/C#/C++ Developer with interest in quantitative analysis

SEB is looking for a senior developer to join the Quant Development Team within Technology. The work is performed in close collaboration with Market Risk and should be intriguing for developers with an interest in quantitative analysis and risk management.

Market Risk, within Group Risk Control, is the unit responsible for quantifying market- and counterparty risks and to independently validate pricing models in the SEB Group.

The Quant Development Team is responsible for risk systems development, with a focus on implementing the next generation market risk solutions, analytics tools, and visualization technologies. The team is distributed over Stockholm Kungsträdgården (where this role will be based) and Riga.

About the job
This is an opportunity to work in a fast pace international environment together with an experienced team of developers and quantitative analysts.

You will be focusing on working with the software craftmanship in the domain of risk modelling, analysis, reporting, and model validation. Not only must our risk models be top of the line, so must the technological infrastructure.

The current tech stack consists mostly of Python, C#, and SQL and the journey of expanding and migrating code into cloud environments using Docker and Kubernetes has just begun. We are also seen an increased need for development in C++ and Java.

As a central function Group Risk interacts with most other parts of the SEB Group. The team works tightly integrated with the business on one side and the larger IT organization on the other, giving plenty of opportunities for personal development and growth, both in technological and financial area.

As senior developer in our team you will play a very important part in our design and development of a new and modern risk analysis environment. Depending on your skillset you’ll also have the chance to contribute to open source valuation libraries and to speed up our cloud journey. You’ll also get the chance to be appreciated for creating proof of concepts and setting up new functionalities with a fast time to market.

Who are you?
As one of the teams working closest to the business, you need to enjoy helping less technical users improve their code and programming skills. You also have a taste for system- and infrastructure design which will help SEB in its journey to the cloud. You enjoy collaborating and consider mentoring other developers as rewarding.

Required skillset:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or equivalent
  • 3+ years of commercial-grade development experience with complex applications.
  • Excellent skills in object-oriented programming
  • Great skills in either Python, C++, C# or Java
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills are required
  • Comfortable with SQL

Optional requirements:

  • Master of Science in software engineering
  • Master of Science in finance or mathematics
  • Knowledge of, and strong demonstrated interest in, global financial markets and financial products.
