Senior HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) Advisor- Ireland and UK

The business area European Wind and Solar (E) is responsible for development and ownership of wind and solar assets in Europe. The business area is also responsible for the project execution of large projects in Statkraft across the energy technologies, the group procurement function and development of new business opportunities.

The HSSE team in Statkraft’s Project Delivery Unit is responsible for HSSE management during all phases of project execution and for developing and implementing the HSSE practices across all the business area’s activities. It is also responsible for HSSE expertise and resources in these projects.

We are growing our business in Ireland and the UK; and need a Senior HSSE Advisor to strengthen the business area’s HSSE team. The position will be based in Cork, Ireland, but will regularly need to be present at our office locations in London and Glasgow. Travelling will be required. You will report Head of HS/Technical Safety, who is based in Oslo, and to individual project managers.

Your role:

As a Senior HSSE Advisor your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Lead as HSSE manager for renewable projects within onshore wind and solar power and grid services.
  • Contribute to the establishment of a good HSSE culture in the projects.
  • Participate in relevant activities in all phases of project development and acquisitions.
  • Carry out HSSE reviews, inspections and audits across the business area’s activities.
  • Lead or participate in investigations of serious incidents and/or accidents.
  • Ensure all appropriate HSSE appointments are in place and made for projects in a timely manner.
  • Be responsible for the implementation of efficient HSSE work processes in our projects in Ireland and UK in accordance with Statkraft governance.
  • Support Country managers in Ireland and the UK within Emergency response, planning and training.
  • Be responsible for maintaining the company safety statements and other related polices.
Your profile:
  • Master-/ university degree in health, safety & welfare at work, engineering or equivalent.
  • Preferably 5-10 years relevant experience within the HSSE in an industrial work environment.
  • Practical experience from execution of large construction projects, preferably within the renewable energy industry.
  • Experience from international projects and work culture is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of HSSE legislation and international standards.
  • Result oriented, structured and flexible with ability to create good work relations.
  • A team player, who can work independently and with ability to drive the HSSE improvement work.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, other languages will be an advantage.
