Senior Hardware Engineer R&D – Marine Robotics

To meet an exciting, sustainable and expanding future, we are seeking Senior Hardware R&D Engineers to make marine robotics for the future. With us you will contribute to the development of new and exciting products. You will be part of a strong R&D department and have the opportunity to work with solutions that are tested daily in real environments in our approved autonomous test area outside Horten. Furthermore, you will get the opportunity to follow projects from concept to finished product.

You will be part of the Marine Robotics department, who create, design and build autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) and autonomous unmanned surface vessels (USVs) that can explore from the sea surface and down to 6000 meters below. Our vehicles can operate alone for days at a time, gathering information about the seafloor, the water, and objects in the water. We create and integrate advanced sensors for information gathering, maritime navigation and communication.

Key accountabilities

  • Develop technical solutions and system schematics for products and deliveries
  • Solve technical problems and work within the hardware domain of our systems
  • Involved in hardware system and component design, specification, development, implementation and testing
  • Integrate sensors and control systems in a demanding environment
  • Maintain our product portfolio by updating production documentation when necessary

Qualifications and experience

  • Degree within the electronic design domain
  • Experience with fault finding and troubleshooting of hardware systems
  • Electrical and acoustical noise and environmental testing of products
  • CAD tools (Cadence, Zuken E3, Autocad)
  • We also need you to have experience with one of two fields
    • Knowledge and experience with design of analog and digital electronics, design of hardware systems or circuit boards and Embedded design (microcontrollers/FPGA)

OR

    • Knowledge and experience in the electronics development domain, primarily power supplies and DC-DC design and/or Lithium battery and BMS systems
  • Fluency in English and Norwegian, both verbal and in writing
