Senior Fuel Analyst in Corporate Strategy and Analysis – Global Energy Drivers

This is an exciting period to join Statkraft. The power industry is being transformed through the rapid rise of renewable generation and Statkraft is pursuing a growth strategy by expanding as an onshore wind and solar developer, optimising flexible hydropower and developing our market operations.

Understanding the future development of the whole energy complex is key for Statkraft’s strategic decisions. Situated in the Corporate Strategy & Analysis department, the unit “Global Drivers” supports decision-makers with insight within this important area. This includes having a view on climate policy development, future fuel and CO2 costs, future technology costs and energy demand development. The unit cooperates closely with the other units in Corporate Strategy & Analysis.

We are now seeking a talented and motivated candidate to strengthen our team as a Senior Fuel Analyst.

 Your role:

  • Being part of the team that develops Statkraft’s long term view on the whole energy system development going forward to 2050
  • Having a view on and being a valuable discussion partner on the whole fuel complex development
  • Being main responsible for Statkraft’s long term view (2030=>) on one of the fuels
  • Supporting on using analytical tools to analyse and providing qualitative and quantitative insights to decision-makers and power market analysts
  • Retrieving, structuring, and processing data enabling the above analysis
  • Being a valuable discussion partner on the energy system development
  • Contributing to ensuring consistency across all main energy market drivers
  • Improving and simplifying work processes and models
  • Supporting other parts of the organization with relevant knowledge

Your profile:

  • Master’s degree in relevant areas (engineering, finance, mathematics, etc.)
  • Experience with fuel market analysis and fuel price development
  • More than three years of relevant experience
  • Analytical mind-set with problem-solving skills combined with sound judgement
  • Knowledge of the global energy system and programming skills in Excel, Python and GAMS would be an advantage
  • Fluency in English, both verbally and written
  • Able to build good relations across Statkraft
  • Self-driven, creative, motivated, and a positive team player
  • Strong personal integrity and high ethical standards

The position reports to VP Global Drivers.

The position will be located at the head office in Lilleaker. Some travel will be required.
