SEB

Senior ESG Analyst to Credit Analysis at SEB in Stockholm

Bank

Credit Analysis is an SEB wide organization with activities in Stockholm, Oslo, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Frankfurt, Tallinn, Riga and Vilnius. The role of the unit is to provide state of the art credit risk evaluation of the client base in support of credit decisions across SEBs geographies and business units. We do this via fundamental research of our clients’ business activities and the sector they operate together with forward looking evaluation of their financial profile.  We believe that ESG issues (environmental, social & governance) and the transition to a low carbon society will have a profound impact on corporate development going forward and are investing in our internal capabilities within the field.

About the job
This is a senior position to be developed in collaboration with internal stakeholders.  As Senior ESG analyst you will be responsible within the unit for driving the integration of ESG aspects, including the significance of climate change, into SEB’s credit analysis framework. This will involve developing methodologies for ESG integration and providing training as well as thematic deep dive exercises, all with a view to raise understanding of ESG impacts within the organization. You will also work alongside our credit analysts on both sector and single name reviews where your analysis will contribute to a more complete picture of repayment capacity including sustainability challenges. The role will be integral to safeguarding prudent banking amidst a changing external environment and will contribute to SEBs efforts to understand the impact our clients have on the environment and society at large.

Who are you?
ESG is a broad field.  We anticipate that candidates may come from a wide range of backgrounds and with different perspectives and prior experience. To be successful within this role your particular strength lies in the environment field where you have experience from considering the implication of climate change on corporate development. Your subject knowledge has probably been gained at university in combination with multi-year hands on experience from a relevant industrial field (carbon intensive), consultancy/advisory or a research environment. You will be expected to interact with senior decision makers internally as well as at management level of our clients which means that you possess great intrapersonal and communication skills. You are expected to be organized, have a keen eye for detail as well as a “big picture” perspective and persistence to see initiatives through. Strong proficiency in English and ability to meet tight deadlines are prerequisites for the position.
