Senior Credit Controller

Jotun is one of the biggest global paint manufacturers in the world. Supplying paints and coatings with four segments such as Protective, Marine, Decorative and Powder Coatings.
Jotun is represented in Asia region with Regional labs and offices in Kuala Lumpur, factories in Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, and Myanmar.
Jotun Myanmar has been established since 2013 and we have based in Bago Region. The factory is mainly produced with Decorative, Protective and Marine Coatings. The factory plans to have the production in of 5 million liters yearly.
The main responsible for this position is to manage and control receivable from Jotun’s customers by decreasing the cost of credit, DSO, percentage of overdue versus targets to improve company working capital. Ensuring an overall proper invoicing, reporting, accurate & timely basis collection cycle to control risk and ensure timely customers’ payments. Evaluate credit worthiness, credit evaluation and litigation process to protect the company profit and minimize trade risk. This position will be based in Yangon, Myanmar and directly report to Finance Manager. 

 

Duties and responsibilities
  • Evaluate and re-evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers to recommend opening new accounts/continue existing customers by reviewing credit evaluation form.
  •  Release/Stop Delivery List (SDL) by reviewing customer aging and their payment behavior to prevent the company from potential credit risk exposure  
  •  Conduct periodical credit review meetings with sales teams for the purpose of improving DSO and take necessary action plans regarding long overdue outstanding. 
  •  Ensure to prepare proper meeting minutes with an action plan for all the meetings held with sales & customers and submit to the finance manager.
  •  Plan for collection and set the target to the sales department based on realistic estimates and monitor day sales outstanding to improve operations cash inflow.
  • Tracking customer performance and calculate sales incentive given to customers under various promotions to ensure that sales deductions are accrued accurately and timely in compliance with Company sales discounted policies
  •  Responsible to issue reminder letters to the customers who have long outstanding overdue and start the litigation process if needed. 
  •  Compliance on commercial tax payment by offsetting with input tax for the purpose of relief the company’s tax expense. 
Qualifications
  • 4 to 6 years of working experience in / Analyst field.
  • At least a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Mathematics or related field
  • Preferred Fluent in English, Communication Skills, and Presentation Skills.
  • Strong knowledge in Microsoft office and knowledge in IFS tools 
  • Managing, Training & Coaching People 
Personal qualities
  • Preferred on audit experience (or) sense of audit  
  • Preferred on previous experience in coordination with the internal revenue department  
  • The ability to listen to customers, negotiate winning solution and understand sales job nature. 
  • Demonstrates specialist knowledge and expertise in own area; participates in continuous professional development
