Senior Commercial Advisor

Statkraft is Europe's largest generator of renewable energy from hydro, wind, and solar power - with 3600 employees in 15 countries across the globe. To strengthen our position as a leading renewable energy company, Statkraft’s growth ambition is to develop 6000 MW onshore wind and 2000 MW solar by 2025.

We are seeking a Senior Commercial Advisor for our new Project Support team, to help strengthen the commercial development of Statkraft’s European Wind and Solar Business. The team is part of the Commercial Development unit in business area European Wind and Solar (E). The business area is responsible for development and ownership of wind and solar assets in Europe. We are now expanding to become a leading developer of onshore wind and solar projects, and to develop new business initiatives.

The Commercial Development unit currently consists of 9 employees located in Oslo, London and Amsterdam, and is responsible for providing support related to commercial aspects of business, project and portfolio development in European Wind and Solar. The unit is also responsible for investor assumption used for valuation of sell-down cases and for developing and maintaining a network, relations and partnerships with institutional investors relevant for the Business Area.

Your role; The Project Support team will be responsible for:

  • Manage projects and advising on commercial aspects of the wind and solar portfolio across Statkraft’s prioritised markets in Europe
  • Secure route to market for projects via government auctions and corporate PPAs
  • Lead or participate in acquisition, sell-down and partnering processes
  • Developing Statkraft’s commercial offering to partners and investors
  • Establishing and managing relations with financial partners
  • Establishing a systematic overview of relevant transactions within wind and solar in Europe
  • Systemizing market assumptions for wind and solar projects across Europe, and assess risk of changes to market assumption

You will report to Vice President Project Support. The role will be based in Oslo, and some travel will be required.

Your profile:

  • Master’s degree in economics, business administration or similar
  • Minimum 3 years relevant working experience in the renewable sector e.g. from the energy industry, consulting or investment banking
  • Preferable with experience from wind and solar commercial development and M&A
  • Good understanding of project economics and key value drivers for the energy business
  • Good understanding of the different routes to market for energy
  • Experience in managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders
  • Self-driven, structured, business oriented and a positive team player with excellent analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, fluency in English language. Proficiency in another main European language would be an advantage
