A funded 3-year PhD fellowship in psychology is available in the Norwegian Centre of Expertise for Neurodevelopmental Disorders and Hypersomnias at the Department of Rare Disorders and Disabilities, Oslo University Hospital, Oslo, Norway.Job description
The main objective of this PhD project is to investigate the effects of intranasal oxytocin administration on learning and neural activity in youth with autism using electroencephalogram. This role will involve the coordination of a randomized controlled trial, including participant recruitment and testing, under the supervision of an experienced team. This project is based on previous work in our group that suggests that oxytocin administration can modulate cognition in both autistic and neurotypical individuals. The successful applicant will join a group that is closely linked with the KG Jebsen Centre for Neurodevelopmental Disorders, Department of Psychology, and NORMENT (University of Oslo). The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to travel to international conferences to present work from the project.
Kvalifikasjoner:
- Applicants must hold a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in psychology (or equivalent). One such example of an equivalent qualification is a Cand.Med. degree
- Practical experience with autistic youth is an advantage
- Practical experience with electroencephalogram is an advantage
- Practical experience with intervention studies is an advantage
- Experience with open science practices is an advantage
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English is required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in Norwegian is a strong advantage
