Quality Manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a customer focused and determined Quality Manager to contribute to the delivery of reliable world-class products and secure operations in Kongsberg Maritime. We are looking for a highly motivated and self-driven candidate who will lead and influence quality improvement projects to ensure we meet our customers’ expectations. You will have functional responsibility and lead Quality professionals focusing on Quality practices supporting a high-accountability and high-performance culture with an emphasis on employee empowerment and collaboration.

 

You will be part of the division Deck Machinery and Motion Control which owns, develops and delivers world class handling solutions, with focus on system solutions and integration driving increased efficiency in our customers' operations. The division is responsible for product and technology development, supply chain operations and project delivery for all Kongsberg Maritime’s winches and handling solutions.

 

Key accountabilities

  • Be a catalyst and champion of Kongsberg Maritimes’ quality culture, based on high accountability and leading by example: maintain an appropriate level of awareness, knowledge and preparedness in the division through training and targeted communication
  • Create awareness and support the leadership team proactively on Quality related issues
  • Be the driving force in quality work and responsible for improving tools, processes, quality standards and awareness for the Quality Assurance function
  • Lead and proactive contribute to stimulate work cross-functionally with key stakeholders to further develop and maintain a common Quality culture
  • Identify and execute tactical and strategic improvement initiatives that create an overall portfolio of improvement projects
  • Organize and follow up Quality management and business reviews in the division
  • Advocate the impact of quality in all aspects of the business, both to the management and the rest of the organization as well as externally towards Supply Chain and Clients

 

Qualifications and experience

  • Preferable experience from global leadership roles with operational experience
  • Bachelor or higher degree 
  • Minimum 10 years work experience from the maritime industry, or comparable industries 
  • A customer-centric mindset and demonstrated ability to create shared vision, inspire collaboration, and drive change with momentum
  • Proven track record in driving cultural impact within the organization, resulting in a measurable impact on the business performance and delivered quality
  • Experience in change management, with extensive background in continuous improvement, lean and operational excellence tools and systems
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems, Certifications and Class

  • Provide your team with a clear direction, inspire and coordinate others and keep them focused on set goals
  • Use a methodical and systematic approach, plan ahead, define clear priorities and allocates resources effectively
