Responsible for ensuring that all price/volume agreements made by Group/Regional Purchasing is received and followed through, any issues reported back to the respective category managers. Controlling import procedures which comply with South African Customs laws.
Responsible for sourcing and price negotiations for raw materials defined as “local” (according to Group Purchasing, not to be confused with local suppliers)
Develop our relationship with local suppliers in cooperation and as agreed with Regional Purchasing with the intention to improve both quality of products and services. Placing orders and follow up with suppliers to ensure keeping consistent and short lead times. Preparing and sharing in the preliminary meeting with new suppliers.
Responsible for getting actual requirements from Planning/Production and implement the standard models and methodologies in order to plan for sourcing the RM stock that will ensure agreed customer service and inventory days as per Key Performance Indicators.
Create a sourcing plan for Indirect Materials for the main categories (as agreed with local management and Regional Purchasing) and post this in the relevant Purchasing Archive. Communicating to local management the RM situation concerning price index, supplier performance and local supply market.

Bachelors Degree or equivalent 

Purchasing qualification advantageous

4-6 years experience in similar position

Chemical industry experience advantageous

Working knowledge of INCOTERMS

ERP knowledge IFS/SAP preferential

Advanced MS Office, Excel, Pivot Table, Vlook Up, ERP systems (SAP, IFS, etc) is a must.

 Fluent in in english & afrikaans (written and verbal)
