Purchase Category Manager

MENU, a Danish design company founded in 1978, is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team in Nordhavn as a Purchase Category Manager. As a Category Manager in the Supply Chain department, you will become a key player in our global Supply Chain with overall responsibility within the category for Purchase management and Purchase procurement processing and handling towards suppliers and from all enquiries coming from our Sales support. You have a great understanding of forecasts and control of inventory, order quantities and product flow. Optimizing work processes in close corporation with our Product development and Sales support team.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Product procurement forecast, planning and execution
  • Being a part of the sourcing and distribution Strategy
  • Being a part of the Line extensions (new variants)
  • Being a part of the Supply Chain strategy
  • Supplier Scanning, validation, selection and evaluation
  • Price negotiation
  • NPL (New product launch) process
  • Handling enquiries from sales support.
  • COGS Analysis (billing, accounting and credit notes control)
  • Maintain ERP master data
  • QC with contact to 3-party company

 

MAIN JOB TASKS 

  • Primarily responsible for the APAC suppliers with focus on the categories; lighting and accessories. Making sure to purchase according to either max/min or according to forecast.
  • Availability of NOOS and on-time deliveries for all inventory items according to forecast max/min
  • Reduction of lead-time
  • Reduction of MOQ without effecting the cost price with higher prices
  • COGS Optimization
  • Liaising with product development, warehouse, sales team, finance and forwarders making sure orders are expedited and completed

 

PROFILE AND DESIRED EXPERIENCE

The right candidate has:

  • Great team player skills and can easily picture him/herself working closely with a group of international colleagues in an informal work environment
  • Flexible and structures skills and can handle many tasks at the same time, is extrovert and thrives with both operational and strategic tasks
  • 3 – 5 years of experience from a purchase department
  • Knowledge from working with forecast towards suppliers
  • A structured working style combined with strong analytical competencies
  • Cross-cultural understanding and interact effortlessly with stakeholders across the organization
  • Fluency in English, written as well as spoken

 

TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Experience with Excel
  • Experience with Outlook and Focal Scope
  • Experience with ERP system as Axapta or similar
  • Knowledge with Word
  • Knowledge with PowerPoint
