We want to strengthen our team of project engineers working on Dynamic Positioning (DP) deliveries to join Kongsberg Maritime in August 2022. Your time will be divided between software tasks in the office and traveling to vessels worldwide. We're looking for four engineers who are motivated, dependable, and adaptable. You should have a hands-on approach to complex tasks and remain calm in a hectic, demanding international environment.

Dynamic positioning (DP) is a system that automatically maintains a vessel's position and heading by using its own propellers and thrusters. This allows operations at sea where mooring and anchoring is not possible or desirable, and is a key technology enabling the transition to offshore wind energy. Offshore wind farms are set to boom over the next few years, becoming an ever more important way of meeting the world’s sustainable energy needs.

Key accountabilities

• Extensive world-wide travel. Approximately 130 travel days per year.
• Software commissioning on board vessels
• Software engineering when at the office

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelors’ or masters’ degree within Cybernetics, Control Engineering, Marine, Electronics, Instrumentation, Computer Science or other relevant fields
• Oral and written communication skills in English
• Some knowledge of C/C++ programming
