World-wide turnkey cable supplier seeks Project Engineer – Installation of high voltage cables

Nexans’ submarine power cables are key in the transition to more renewable energy whether connecting islands to the mainland or bringing green energy from the offshore wind farm to the grid. In cooperation with our world-wide customers we push technological boundaries to go deeper, longer, at higher voltages and to provide turn-key solutions for installation and protection to meet future needs.

As engineer in the land cable department you will work in installation projects. The department is responsible for bringing the subsea cable to shore and terminate it to the power grid. Your job will be to engineer the solutions and follow up in the execution phase.

Responsibilities and tasks

• Engineering of installation solutions
• Prepare technical documents
• Prepare the needs and technical documentation for procurement of materials and services
• Collaboration and communications with clients, suppliers and other Nexans disciplines
• Coordination of logistics of installation crew, product and tools
• Follow up and leading of work on the work sites (Site Manager)

What we are looking for

• Master Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Operations and Maintenance Engineering
• High in self-efficacy, solution oriented and proactive
• Experience with AutoCad , Inventor, ProEngineer or similar
• Very good capability in written communications
• Comfortable with both Norwegian and English as working language
• Experience from leading of site work
• Flexible for short notice, long duration travels in remote locations
