Statkraft recently announced its new corporate strategy, with the aim to strengthen its position as a leading renewable energy company. Statkraft is already the largest producer of renewable energy in Europe and is planning to develop an additional 4 GW onshore wind capacity and about 2 GW solar power within 2025 globally. The majority of the growth is planned in Europe (namely Germany, France, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands), and we are pursuing both organic growth as well as potential Mergers & Acquisitions opportunities to reach the target.

What we do:

The business area European Wind and Solar (E) is responsible for development and ownership of wind and solar assets in Europe. The business area is also responsible for the project execution of large projects in Statkraft, the group procurement function and development of new business opportunities.

Your role:

You will be part of the Amsterdam based Solar team focused primarily on developing large scale ground mounted solar PV projects in The Netherlands. With your industry experience, you are expected to play a pivotal role in making Statkraft a successful player in the solar PV business.

In detail the following tasks will be part of your job profile:

  • Finding new suitable locations for solar PV installations
  • Mapping, approaching and managing relevant stakeholders of each suited location including landowners, local cooperatives, municipalities and grid companies
  • Negotiating and concluding land agreements with landowners or their representatives
  • Coordinating site specifics with financial and technical colleagues and determine the consequences
  • Liaising with spatial planners and other advisers to prepare permit applications
  • Initiating and managing the permit application process towards province and municipality
  • Pro-active contribution to the development of provincial, regional and municipal energy vision and/or spatial planning
  • Track project level progress and risks. Provide insightful analysis and reporting to management

Profile:

  • Proven track record and experience developing solar ground mounted projects in the Netherlands of at least 2 years
  • Excellent team-player with very good interpersonal and communication skills. Commercial drive
  • University degree preferably in business, economics, engineering, and sustainability studies
  • Knowledge of the Dutch renewable energy market and solar as a technology
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel and other MS applications.
  • Knowledge of environmental legislation, spatial planning regulation and GIS tools
  • Concisely frame issues by providing context, analysis, recommendations and risk/benefit trade-offs, both in written and verbal format, to project teams and to senior management
  • Ability to manage numerous projects and relationships simultaneously including landowners, authorities, advisors and internal stakeholders
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, any additional language is an advantage
  • Ability to travel
