European Wind and Solar

The business area European Wind and Solar (E) is responsible for development and ownership of wind, solar and storage assets in Europe. The business area is also responsible for the project execution of large projects in Statkraft, the group procurement function and development of new business opportunities.

Working in Digitalisation and Continuous Improvement 

As part of the Organisational Development Department within the Staff Area in European Wind and Solar, the Digitalisation and Continuous Improvement is a newly established unit with the specific remit of driving forward European Wind and Solar’s digitalisation agenda. Digitalisation will play a crucial role in enabling European Wind and Solar to deliver on its strategic targets.

The new unit will work in partnership with the European Wind and Solar teams building a competitive edge for our commercial business and make an impact through innovative process improvements. It will also provide an essential strategic partnering bridge between the needs of the business and the IT opportunity space.

Your Role:

Your responsibility includes taking a holistic ownership of the digital solutions supporting the project lifecycle, to ensure that the best solutions are implemented according to business needs with contributions from key stakeholders in E such as developers, engineers, project managers and asset managers. 

You will work closely with these stakeholders to prioritise the product backlog, bridge these requirements to the IT delivery unit and ensure user acceptance of improvements.   Your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure seamless end-to-end user experience across the project lifecycle tools. Project lifecycle tools are the tools used to support end-to-end project process for developing wind, solar and storage solutions including project and portfolio development, document management and project governance with interface towards procurement, external collaboration with contractors, handover to asset management and backend services (finance, HSSE, etc.)
  • Communicate, translate, and simplify business requirements, facilitate the prioritisation of these according to business value and facilitate the product change board
  • Ensure acceptance testing of changes, communicate changes and monitor and support end user adoption
  • Own the product roadmap and responsible for planning and follow-up of deliveries and input to the yearly budget
  • Responsible for non-functional requirements such as security, availability, integration, information architecture and performance
  • Technology advisory towards implementing future-oriented enhancements to the project lifecycle tools in collaboration with IT
  • Drive innovation through prototyping using digital capabilities within existing portfolio and new technologies 
  • Be escalation point for project lifecycle tool deliveries from IT
  • Support in continuously strengthening our way of working and optimising our processes 

The position is located either in our office at Lilleaker, Oslo, Norway or London, UK but working closely with the business across the E markets. The position will be reporting to Head of Digitalisation and Continuous Improvement located in our head office in Oslo, Norway.

About you:

We are looking for candidates who are high performing individuals with drive and a clear “can do” attitude. The right candidate has an interest, motivation and experience in leading business critical IT and digitalisation activities. You acknowledge the importance of change management and are motivated by collaborating with skilled colleagues to reach ambitious goals.

  • Higher university education in the areas of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), Business Engineering, Finance or similar; and minimum 5 years’ relevant work experience
  • Effective communication skills and talent for building network and trusted relationships is a necessity. Ability to connect the dots between business needs and IT solutions and communicate with both end users on the business side and technology specialists in IT
  • Skilled process driver with mindset to plan and structure work to ensure high quality solutions with deliveries from many involved parties across different teams
  • Great interest and understanding of opportunities enabled by digitalisation trends and technologies, e.g., cloud, data platforms, process automation, user experiences, software development or scripting.
  • Experience within project lifecycle support tools, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and/or productivity (Microsoft 365) tools
  • Continuous improvement mindset and experience from improving and optimising deliveries related to a product. Knowhow of innovative techniques is appreciated (Agile processes, design thinking, scrum or similar)
  • Great at making things happen, starting and moving cases with passion and drive, as well as corporate navigation skills.
  • Work experience from consulting companies or similar roles in global industrial or energy companies is highly relevant especially related to development, construction, and asset management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
