The main activities of the Business Area Markets and IT (M) are energy management for Statkraft’s assets, trading & origination and market access services in Europe, South America and India. In addition, the business area contains local business support, finance & risk support, and IT services. In M there are more than 700 employees.

MTD is a newly established department in the Trading and Origination department in Statkraft (MT) with the core focus of driving digitalization in the unit. Digitalization will be crucial for MT to deliver on its strategic targets of expanding the proprietary trading and customer business. MTD will speak the language of both business and IT and build strong skills within business knowledge, quantitative methodology and technology.

As the Product Owner for the Portfolio Management Platform in MTD you will be responsible for maximizing the value of the Portfolio Management Platform for MT, through strong product ownership and a strategic mindset.

This is an extremely important role for MT and a well-functioning Portfolio Management Platform is crucial in order for MT to continue to grow the business; both across geographies, but also to be able to offer new, innovative products within existing markets.

Product Owner

The position can be in Oslo and Düsseldorf and will report to Vice President Digitalisation – Trading & Origination (MTD).

Your role:

• Be responsible for the Front Office product ownership of the Portfolio Management Platform.
• Define the long-term vision for a best-in-class and fit-for-growth Portfolio Management platform within MT.
• Develop a deep understanding of the stakeholders’ requirements and become their appreciated discussion partner. Be responsible for aligning requirements across and prioritize implementation activities.
• Develop and maintain roadmaps together with the product owner in Middle Office.
• Facilitate and oversee the implementation of aligned business requirements, including the development of new models for new non-standard products/structures.

Your profile:

• University degree in mathematics, statistics, finance, or engineering
• Relevant on-the-job experience with ETRM systems and quantitative models. Experience with Python is beneficial
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage a complex and demanding set of stakeholders with diverse requirements
• Strong analytical skills and a structured mindset
• Ability to stay focused on the long-term vision while at the same time being able to deliver on short term needs
• Good understanding of the trading and origination business and commodity markets
• Knowledgeable in mathematical modelling and statistical methods
• Collaborative - ability to build good relationships with the internal customers in Trading & Origination, with Middle Office and with the IT department
• Fluent in English both oral and in writing, other languages an advantage
