Our Deck Machinery and Motion Control division owns, develops and delivers world class handling solutions, with focus on system solutions and integration driving increased efficiency in our customers' operations. The division is responsible for product and technology development, supply chain operations and project delivery for all Kongsberg Maritime’s winches and handling solutions.

Our team responsible for developing and supporting our vast range of handling equipment within the segments fisheries, anchor handling, tug, supply and E&P, are looking for a Product Engineer - Automation. In this role, you will use your strong knowledge in Frequency Converter systems to take part in setting the strategic direction for the selection and use of the systems. You have high customer awareness and a strong ability to translate customer needs into product development which you will use to contribute to shape and deliver the product road map for our control systems. This is an opportunity to have a coordinating role in a highly skilled technical team.

Key accountabilities
• Contribute to setting strategic direction for the selection and use of frequency converter systems
• Contribute to shaping and delivering the product road map for our control systems
• Design and verification of control systems - hardware and software
• Participate in and lead internal development projects
• Support our sales organisation with solutions and offers for customers
• Contribute with technical support for vessels operating with our deck machinery portfolio
• Support service engineers with technical advice during service jobs and commissioning of our equipment

Qualifications and experience
• Good knowledge of frequency converter systems
• Technical education within automation or electrical engineering is preferred, but relevant work experience can compensate for formal theoretical competence
• Knowledge in deck handling operations
• Knowledge in CoDeSys programming, PLC programming and the use of Cadet Elsa is an advantage
• Work experience from projects/project management is an advantage
