Postdoc/researcher in epigenetic analyses of esophageal cancer
At the Department of Molecular Oncology, Institute for Cancer Research, Radium Hospital, Oslo University Hospital we have a three year vacant full time position as a postdoc or alternatively a researcher position, depending on the qualifications.

Research at the Department focuses on improving diagnostic, stratification and treatment of gastro-intestinal and urological cancers. The candidate will be working in the Epigenetics group (Lind lab) where various technologies, including omics platforms and digital PCR, have been established to study DNA methylation in various cancer types. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team, including molecular biologists, computational scientists, engineers and clinicians. You will also benefit from a stimulating scientific environment at our Department and as part of the Norwegian Esophageal Cancer Consortium, which provides a nationwide collaborative platform for developing cutting edge translational research.

Kvalifikasjoner:

  • Applicants must hold a PhD degree within molecular biology or medicine, alternatively in computational biology, bioinformatics or a closely related discipline.
  • A general background in cancer biology is required, preferably within molecular cancer biology
    Ability to generate, analyze, interpret and summarize molecular data – preferably DNA methylation data.
  • Ability to interpret and summarize large scale data (omics) and proficiency with bioinformatics tools and methods for data analysis is an advantage, but not a requirement
  • Significant experience with and interest for authoring scientific publications
  • Fluent oral and written communication skills in English
