The main activities of the Business Area Markets & IT (M) are energy management for Statkraft’s assets, trading & origination and market access services in Europe, South America and India. In addition, the business area contains local business support, finance & risk support, and IT services. In M there are 750 employees. The market operations of Statkraft are performed in the offices of Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, Istanbul, London, New Delhi, Oslo, Rio de Janeiro, Stockholm and Trondheim.

Statkraft Market Operations (MO) segment is enhancing its financial reporting processes and capabilities for revenues and gains and losses. 
 

Your tasks: 

• Process owner for financial reporting processes for Market Operations (revenues and gains and losses from energy trading activities) in the Nordics and International. You will assist the VP for Accounting, Tax and Internal Control in M in rolling out new reporting tools and enhance reporting quality and transparency in close cooperation with Back Office and Middle Office function.  
• A strong focus will be the continuous improvement and automation /scaling of processes. You will be expected to identify improvement opportunities, design and develop solutions with IT and other relevant stakeholders whilst ensuring that group accounting policy and internal control requirements are met.
• Market Operations supports other segments in their growth strategy and provide assistance in the financial reporting of complex energy contracts. You will manage the interface with these internal customers and will be in charge of developing efficient reporting solutions and assist local units in South America, India, US and other European countries in applying group policy.      
• You will be the local contact for Corporate Functions and cooperate with them on financial reporting topics as well as any new system developments or projects, including ERP upgrades.   
• Internal control improvement and compliance. You will assist in enhancing the internal control framework / compliance and participate in internal control network meetings.
• The position may also include supervision of direct reports depending on the experience of the candidate.    

 

Your profile: 

• You hold a university or technical degree in finance with a focus on accounting or are a certified / qualified accountant.
• You have at least 5 years’ experience in financial reporting in an international company / or audit firm. Experience in the energy industry or from a trading environment is preferred but not essential.
• You have good knowledge of IFRS, and are familiar with reporting financial instruments, possibly even using trading systems.    
• Your level of English is very good, if not excellent
• You should be a good team player, assisting colleagues where necessary; be comfortable communicating with others and be used to reaching out across departments, countries and cultures to achieve common goals.  
• Experience of working in a matrix function or flat hierarchical organisation is a plus.
• Good knowledge in SAP is essential as is a keen interest in digital improvement in reporting processes.
