MAINTENANCE & DOCKING MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Maintenance & Docking Manager will be responsible for the maintenance strategy, including maintenance system and dry docking within the fleet. This position will assist technical operation team on a daily basis and have a close contact and cooperation with the vessels Fleet Manager, Maintenance Superintendents, Technical Superintendent and Purchasing Department. The position reports to Vice President Technical Operation. 


RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Maintenance system
  • Budget, control and planning of all dry dockings
  • Establishment and execution of major maintenance programs, including docking, repairs and modifications
  • Control of dry-docking and major repair specification and budget together with Superintendent/Fleet Manager
  • Verification of docking yards
  • Participate and assist Vessel Superintendent in all insurance matters
  • Responsible for contact and dialog with insurance company during insurance claim
  • Responsible for H&M and LoH insurance claim handling and reports
  • Control of new class and oil company requirements in fleet related projects
  • Cooperation with Purchasing Manager in connections with framework agreement

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Degree as Chief Engineer, Marine Engineer or Master of Science
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience from ship management and/or industry
  • Experience as Vessel Superintendent or Project Manager
  • Experience and/or knowledge to systems for ship verification (class societies and/or authorities)
  • Knowledge to accounting reporting and cost control
  • Knowledge of HSE&QA management systems
  • Fluent in the English language
