Experienced Legal Counsel for DFDS

The DFDS Group continues to expand and therefore looking to appoint an experienced business-oriented legal counsel with an international perspective. You will be part of our dedicated and international Legal team, where you get the opportunity to  be a trusted advisor to all our business areas and to gain a deep understanding of the business needs to enable the DFDS strategy. The Legal team is responsible for all legal activities across the organization and is cooperating closely  with all relevant functions across the DFDS Group.

The Legal team forms part of Legal & Insurance which is part of the Finance Team, reporting to the CFO and currently consists of 10 highly committed colleagues of which 6 are based in Denmark, 3 in Lithuania and 1 in Turkey. Main responsibilities

• Advise on and draft contracts with customers and suppliers, including negotiations as well as participation in tender offers.
• Participate in the deal teams in the on-going expansion of the DFDS business through M&A activities acting as the legal anchor.
• Support the existing businesses on ad hoc projects like major investments in existing activities.
• Take part in relevant legal risk management activities and assist on continuously improving governance practices 

You will report to the General Counsel who has the overall responsibility for handling the legal affairs of DFDS.

Preferred professional candidate profile

• A Master’s degree in law (LL.M).
• Minimum +8 years’ experience from a top tier law firm and/or as in-house counsel with significant experience in M&A and international contracts.
• Strong abilities to interact and build relations with various stakeholders at all levels.
• Solid business understanding and how legal and business needs interact.
• Proficient in Danish and English, oral and written.
