The Procurement department is progressing on a journey towards becoming a strong integrated partner to the business and we are focusing on further developing and creating sustainable solutions for our customers, stakeholders and for Procurement in general. With a broad exposure to the whole organization, you will, have the opportunity to impact the tasks and outcome, in close collaboration with the rest of the organization and team.

We are looking for an intern with a passion and an interest in Procurement and Supply Chain.  We are currently offering an internship and a chance to join our procurement team in Copenhagen. We will take you onboard an exciting journey of challenging projects that without doubt will give you an in-depth, and hands-on experience in the interesting field of Procurement.

In DFDS we are putting a lot of effort into Sustainable Procurement as an important pillar in our ESG profile

• We are determined to improve our ESG score and have asked our partners in EcoVadis to assess the maturity of our Sustainable Procurement drive.
• We would like to offer the opportunity to the right intern candidate, to work with analyzing the findings in the maturity assessment and come up with a strategy proposal together with our Compliance Manager.

Influencing supplier performance within sustainability

• Another part of the Sustainable Procurement effort, deals with influencing our suppliers in the direction of sustainability. We want to source sustainably, but we would also like to help our suppliers to do the same. Part of the task is to develop a framework collaborating with our partners and increasing their appetite to improve on sustainability parameters.

DFDS is reporting on our CO2 emissions and in Procurement we are responsible for Scope 3 figures. The right intern candidate would assist and spare with our Compliance Manager around data analysis, reporting and a strategy toward setting emission targets.

Your profile

You are a student from Copenhagen Business School’s Bachelor of Science program in International Shipping and Trade and ready for an internship in September 2023.

You are an outgoing person with a strong personal drive and dedication. You can solve problems individually and in a team, and you are able to respond to shifting priorities in a dynamic setting. In addition, you bring a healthy sense of humour to your work even when the pressure is on.  Furthermore you should have good data discipline and a good understanding of the office package, preferably profound knowledge of Excel and Power Point

Finally, you must have a strong work ethic and willingness to take responsibility for your learning.

DFDS is northern Europe’s largest shipping and logistics company. We operate 30 routes with 63 freight and passenger ships and provide freight and logistics services with over 1.000 trucks across Europe with trailers, containers, and rail. We are in a green transformation process in both our ferry and Logistics division, latest shown in the collaboration with Volvo where DFDS recently placed a larger order, on electrical trucks (125).
