Reporting to the VP Group Tax, you will be responsible for advising the business on UK tax matters, a portfolio of international jurisdictions, M&A and Group Tax projects. This role is based in London.

As the International Tax Manager, you will be part of the Group Tax department at Statkraft.  We have a fully centralized approach to tax with Group Tax operating as a centre of expertise. The unit is responsible for policy setting on indirect and direct tax. Tax optimization and advice are core responsibilities for the department. Group Tax has close co-operation with Investment Review Unit, audit committee, M&A and the different business areas’ finance departments both nationally and internationally. 

About the role:

  • Support the business areas with provision of tax advice to achieve their commercial goals
  • Ensure tax compliance and consistency with Statkraft Group policies for your portfolio
  • Evaluate tax legislation changes globally and assess the associated impact on business areas
  • Transaction support – provide tax advice relating to acquisitions and disposals
  • Input into investment decision process and financial modelling
  • Assist Group Treasury with financing of the Group
  • Provide tax technical support to European Accounting Centre on UK tax compliance and preparation of tax disclosures for UK statutory accounts

About you:

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant, Tax Lawyer or equivalent tax qualification
  • 3 - 8 years of corporate tax experience, from in-house or private sector
  • Strong technical expertise in international taxation, M&A and tax issues affecting large multinationals
  • Experience/interest in tax digitalization projects/initiatives an advantage
  • Analytical, efficient, independent, pro-active and good team player
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • High personal integrity and ethical standards
  • Fluency in English
