Are you an experienced Information Developer/technical writer, looking for new challenges? Join us making user-friendly documentation for Automation and Bridge Systems in Kongsberg Maritime!


In this position you will be part of a professional and highly motivated team. We use structured information techniques (XML) to make printed and online information.  We are looking for you who can help us utilize our tools even smarter, to the benefit of our customers.

 

Key accountabilities

  • Plan and carry out documentation projects
  • Make documentation for installation, operation, maintenance and marketing
  • Gather and analyse the information needs of the user
  • Analyse information about the products
  • Use the products in question to understand how to document them
  • Participate in simplifying our internal documentation standards and methods
  • Guide and train junior Information developers

 

Qualifications and experience

  • An interest in developing automated documentation tools and methods
  • An engineering or maritime background (relevant experience may compensate for lack of formal qualifications)
  • Experience in technical writing
  • Mentoring skills
  • Clear, correct, and concise English, spoken and written.
  • Knowledge of DITA XML or other structured information techniques is an advantage
  • Knowledge of, and interest in, different electronic user assistance information formats (“help systems”) is an advantage
