Jotun Liger (Malaysia and Singapore) took effect from 01 July 2016. The business administration in these 2 countries has been consolidated as one unit and manages by the same management team. The legal setup is to be maintained as is with 2 separate entities for statutory purposes. Performance of the business will be measured as one unit with the consolidated results. After the establishment of Jotun Liger, the organization is now expected to deliver strong growth while continuously improve on efficiency and profitability.

Today, Jotun Liger is the largest company and one of the main profit contributors in SEAP with total sales of NOK 1,346 Million and EBITA NOK 209K in 2019.

We are looking for a suitable candidate to manage and lead HR functions for Jotun LIGER (Malaysia and Singapore) in line with Group/Regional HR policies and local legal requirements by delivering high quality HR-tasks and ensuring that the Company attracts, retains and develop staff in meeting current and future business needs, thereby contributing to the overall strategic growth and development of the Company. 

This position is based in Kuala Lumpur- Malaysia and reports directly to Managing Director of Jotun Liger. 

Duties and responsibilities
  • Act as a management team member and a strategic partner to the Company Manager, HODs and line managers in all HR areas covering industrial relations, manpower planning, recruitment, compensation and benefits, employee engagement, competence development and retention of staff to meets current and future business needs.
  • Propose, draft, implement and administer local HR policies within the legal framework of Malaysia and Singapore respectively, in line with Group HR/Regional HR policies and that these policies meet organizational needs and are made known to the employees.
  • Work closely and be an active sparring partner to the management team in LIGER on organisational design and development, job structure/HAY-grading, compensation, performance management, training and other HR-issues so that the structure and competence of the organization support business needs.
  • Prepare and administer Annual Training and Development plan (including conducting TNA – Training Needs Analysis) along with Competence Mapping for the Company based on business and departmental needs by supporting the Company Manager and management team with the necessary tools, data, information and other details to discuss on training/rotation plans in addressing future leadership roadmaps for the Company and Jotun.
  • Lead Liger HR department by managing, guiding and developing local HR team members to have the right competence and capacity in delivering high-quality HR-tasks efficiently to support Liger organization.
  • Have overview of administrative function in the organization by managing admin team members and monitoring the key activities to ensure smooth business operations. 
  • According to the requirements in the HSEQ management system, the holder of this position is defined as Element Owner of Element 5 – Training.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Bachelor Degree with 9 years of relevant working experiences.
  • Good understanding and experience with of Malaysia and Singapore labour laws would be preferable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.  
  • Fluent oral and written in English is essential
