An exciting opportunity has arisen as Head of Export Control within the Business Support division in Kongsberg Maritime. In this role you will be central to secure our license to operate. Compliance within complicated regulations is essential, and it is imperative that we continuously develop, oversee and manage all aspects of the Export Control function. Towards key stakeholders, you show dedication, reliability and proactively provide your expertise to ensure compliance to laws and regulations.

As the Head of Export Control, you will lead an international team and advance the Export Control function within Kongsberg Maritime’s global organization. We expect you to show proactiveness and excellent collaboration skills. It is critical that you have a solution-oriented approach to good conduct of Export Control for business areas with high technological complexity. Key accountabilities

• Be our export control professional that ensures Kongsberg Maritime operates according to Export Control directives and international laws and regulations, including being continuously updated on upcoming development on sanctions and relevant Export Control issues
• Lead an international team with enthusiasm and providing a clear strategic focus
• Support and guide the business on Export Control related matters and pro-actively initiate dialogue towards decision-makers within product development
• Ensure a functional operational Export Control setup in Kongsberg Maritime
• Provide expertise and advise to Kongsberg Maritime management

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor or master’s degree within Compliance, Law or other relevant fields
• Several years of practical experience and expertise within Export Control or Compliance Functions in an international company or consultancy, preferably interpreting US, UK and Norwegian legislation, enforcement and governmental interactions
• An existing network within all levels of governmental conduct of Export Control issues and a deep understanding of high-level political development within Export Control globally
• Fluent written and oral communication skills in English
