DFDS AS

Head of Compensation & Benefits

DFDS is developing rapidly, heading for a modernized and digitized version of providing transportation and logistics services to clients throughout Europe.
After several years of significant and successful growth, the ESG agenda is increasingly incorporated in DFDS’ day-to-day operations, ensuring that the climate agenda and diversity & inclusion is addressed in what we do.
Further, the need for alignment and scalability is becoming a key requirement, to continue to grow organically as well as inorganically.

In the context of the above, we are looking for a new colleague to take the role as Head of Compensation & Benefits (C&B), with the following overall scope:

  • To develop the current incentive structures supporting the strategic direction of DFDS
  • To develop an aligned approach to C&B in DFDS, duly considering the level of acquisitions
  • To ensure that HR operational processes on one hand support the engagement and performance of the DFDS organization, and on the other hand are as efficient and digitized as possible.

Setting direction, as part of the People Leadership team

You will be expected to set the direction for C&B overall. You will be part of the People Division (140 colleagues across Europe) and the People Leadership team (10 colleagues), reporting to the Chief People Officer and based in our new headquarter premises in Nordhavn, Copenhagen.

You will have colleagues in the regions dedicated to C&B who will be functionally reporting to you. Furthermore, the HR Digitization team is organizationally structured as your area of responsibility with the team reporting to you as well.

In addition to the above, you will be working with the Remuneration Committee of DFDS, represented by three DFDS Board members (incl. Chair and Vice chair).

Your responsibilities

You will be responsible for the full annual cycle of C&B activities in the DFDS organisation, spanning across e.g.:

  • Yearly annual salary reviews, incl. allocation/pay-out of STI and LTI
  • Ad-hoc analysis (eg gender pay-gap)
  • Recurrent review of C&B related policies, incl. alignment/simplification of same
  • Develop material for the Remuneration Committee, incl. Annual report
  • Continuous digitization of People processes, incl. manager reporting
  • Establish structures to support mobility of employees

The execution of these activities involves high involvement with line managers, to understand business needs and challenges, and close collaboration with HR Business Partners and C&B dedicated people in the local organizations.

In addition, you will have a digitization team reporting to you, whose responsibility cover:

  • Development and execution of a roadmap for digitizing HR processes
  • Governance and overall quality of data
  • Development and delivery of HR data to the business, incl. a manager dashboard

Structured mindset, broad and deep C&B experience and strong executional skills

Besides having a Cand.Merc, HD or similar educational background, we expect you to have thorough experience with C&B from larger international companies, combined with:

  • Strong business acumen, making it natural for you always to understand the business context you are operating in, as a guiding direction for what to prioritise
  • Strong analytical skills, combined with communication skills which can translate complex content to simple messages
  • Stakeholder management and influencing skills, combined with a teamplayer attitude
  • Strong project management skills, combined with a good degree of comfort in prioritizing and defining a functional direction yourself
  • High level of resilience, to work under pressure and with tough deadlines
  • Strong process understanding and analytical skills to drive simplification and standardization, with digitization
