An exciting opportunity has arisen as HARDWARE PROJECT ENGINEER, reporting to Global Customer Support, After Market Projects. In this role, you will be a part of the Offshore & LNG team delivering “Full Picture” solutions to the maritime industry. The role is responsible for hardware engineering, ordering and documentation in department delivery projects.

Our projects are based on upgrading / replacement of KM and other makers, Integrated Automation & Control Systems on vessels worldwide. Such types of projects are exciting and hectic with many unforeseen technical challenges, which need to be handled during the process. The available time we have in projects are limited and require engineers with determination and ability to solve difficult tasks, in a short time.

Our technical solutions have success in the market; the goal is to maintain and strengthen this position in the future. We are now looking for our next team member.

Key accountabilities

  • Analyze, engineer and plan installation of solutions based on old marine electrical and mechanical documentation
  • Mechanical completion, pre-commissioning and commissioning activities
  • Rules and regulations towards electrical installations in the marine industry
  • Automation, DP and Navigation
  • Kongsberg Maritime product portfolio Automation, Navigation and DP, sensors and reference systems
  • Travel as required to support our customers

 

Qualifications and experience

  • Higher technical education/ technical education, relevant experience may compensate for lack of education
  • Preferable 4-5 years working experience from technical or administrative sector
  • Newly graduates are also encouraged to apply for this position
  • Practical experience and knowledge of marine equipment and control systems is preferred
  • Some experience from either AutoCad, K-Tools, eDMS (ProArc), ERP -and CRM systems is an advantage
  • Fluent written and oral communication skills in English and Norwegian

All applicants will be evaluated. You don’t have to be an experienced Hardware Engineer. You will get the training, coursing, and mentoring that is necessary to bring you up to a professional level.
