Grid Contracts Manager

Energi- og vannforsyning

24 Months Fixed Term Contract

Statkraft is Europe's largest generator of renewable energy from hydro, wind, and solar power. We have 3,600 employees in 16 countries across the globe. Our aim is to become a leading developer, constructor, owner and operator of onshore wind and solar projects in the UK, taking on a significantly larger number of projects than before, and being committed to a carbon-neutral future.  Statkraft already owns and operates three wind farms in Scotland, one in Wales and one hydro asset, also in Wales; with a combined total capacity around 250MW.

The business area European Wind and Solar (“E”) is responsible for development and asset management of wind and solar assets in Europe. The business area is also responsible for the project execution of large projects in Statkraft, the group procurement function and development of new business opportunities.

We have high ambitions for growth in wind, solar and ancillary grid services in the UK and need a grid contracts manager to administer and manage a significant number of grid connection contracts which are vital to delivering our renewable energy ambitions and targets..

The grid contracts manager will manage and administer all the contracts and work with the project managers to ensure that the grid connection development is in line with the project development to minimise the risk that a viable renewable energy project with planning permission is not waiting unduly for grid connection and vice versa. Grid contracts can have interim payments and deposits of tens and thousands of pounds, reaching millions in some cases, and the role is to manage, check and forecast these payments to reduce risks and costs.

You will be part of an experienced development team with a proven track record. You will be based in either our Glasgow or London office and report to the Europe Grid Manager.  You will have regular travel within UK and occasional to Norway/Ireland.

Your role:

  • Manage, attend, and minute meetings related to contracts e.g. Pre-Application Meetings, Post Offer meetings and Review meetings.
  • Be primary point of contact in Statkraft for network companies’ customer managers and attend relevant industry meetings and seminars to maintain and develop excellent industry knowledge.
  • Enhance and develop your own industry and process knowledge to work with technical and engineering staff and consultants plus project managers and financial modellers to develop the optimum, cost effective, timely and successful grid connections for Statkraft’s projects.

Your profile:

  • University degree within a relevant field.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a relevant role, demonstrating robust arithmetic skills and confidence, great attention to detail, ability to review and interpret large contracts, industry rules, regulations and guidance documents.
  • An organised, practical, self-starting doer with the ability to cope with competing demands, workload peaks and deliver high quality results on time.
  • Strong collaboration, influencing and relationship-building skills.
  • A pro-active approach to problem solving.
  • Confident and personable, keen to work in a dynamic, small team environment.

Statkraft offers:
