Statkraft now has a great opportunity for an experienced Grid Business Developer to join the team in The Netherlands. The role can be based either in Den Bosch or Amsterdam.

In this role you will closely work together with a team of circa 20 project and business developers developing onshore wind projects, ground mounted solar projects and related technologies. You will be responsible for developing commercially viable grid connection structures for the various wind and solar projects the team is working on. In addition, you will bring in general Dutch legal grid knowledge expertise.

In order to maintain a good understanding of developments in the Dutch grid and future possibilities, you will regularly engage with the national and regional grid operators and other parties active in this field.

Key activities and responsibilities:

• Supporting projects through the development phase with the main aim to:

• Identifying and unlocking opportunities within Transmission & Distribution networks
• Developing and utilising techniques to minimise grid limitations on projects
• Develop innovative solutions for multi technology connections of renewable energy sources

• Cooperate and advise the financial modelling team of all the key grid and system service-related value drivers of a project (grid capital cost including provision for risk and pass through, operating cost, network charges, constraints, curtailment, system service revenues and capacity revenues)
• Track and influence relevant policy around grid, system services and capacity in The Netherlands.
• Ensure the developers are aware of key changes and their implications.
• Maintain strong relationships with industry groups, system operators and regulators.
• Be primary point of contact in Statkraft for network companies’ customer managers.
• Attend relevant industry meetings and seminars to maintain and develop excellent industry knowledge.

Qualifications and experience:

• University degree within relevant field, ideally (electrical) engineering and/or (business) economics.
• Minimum 3 years’ + work experience with renewable projects.
• A knowledge of the System Services and Capacity market in NL will be a distinct advantage.
• Strong communication, relationship building and management skills including organisational ability and a target oriented; demonstrated ability to prioritize.
• Ability to work within formal project management structures to deliver on time and budget.
• Ability to provide innovative solutions to complex issues in a timely manner.
• Strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook skills expected.
• Independent self-starter. Ability to manage a large workload, often providing support to processes managed by colleagues, while prioritizing tasks and effectively juggling competing deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills in Dutch and English.
