Global Sales Director Yard/EPC/Applicator

We are in search for a candidate who can Improve the global market position and profitability of Marine and Protective Coatings within the Yard/EPC/Applicator customer group by identifying, signing and developing selected key customers in order to build robust, profitable and strategic partnerships and customer relationships. Ensure that Jotun has a competent, engaged and enabled salesforce by creating and implementing customer management tools, methods, and guidelines in order to support the Performance Coating’s strategy, as well as achieving local, regional and global targets.
This position is based in Shanghai (NEA Region) and reports to the VP Marine and Protective.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Manage and develop, selected Global Key Customer relationships by understanding the customers’ need, market, potential and strategy in order to be able to position Jotun as a preferred supplier and securing sustainable and profitable relationships.
  • Manage and lead the team by setting clear targets and frameworks, coaching, supporting, following-up and monitoring each team member in line with the Penguin Spirit to support engagement and enablement of the direct and indirect sales teams
  • Grow Jotun’s market position within Yard/EPC/Applicator by overseeing projects, monitoring performance and results to ensure cost efficiency and profitable initiatives.
  • Create and execute the strategic response for Yard/EPC/Applicator by establishing policies, guidelines, tools and guiding principles and communicating this to the network in order to govern sales and customer management globally
  • Establish and implement a robust framework for prioritizing and developing Key Accounts/Customers by creating relevant and dynamic metrics and KPIs, establishing and following up on activity plans and sharing tactics and best practice, in order to ensure that resources are utilized where they best serve Jotun’s long-term strategy and profitability
  • Support and guide cross-border projects by following up on progress, key decisions and ensuring that stakeholders are informed and engaged in order to ensure the successful completion of projects and Jotun’s reputation as a preferred supplier.
  • Ensure that the global sales force is competent and enabled by identifying competencies, skills and knowledge profiles, establish processes for identifying and closing competence gaps and together with relevant internal parties, creating a learning environment which supports on-demand, flexible and suitable learning which enables and empowers Jotun’s sales force to meet its targets and goals.
  • Share customer information, leads and opportunities with relevant internal stakeholders to strengthen Jotun’s understanding, innovations and response.
Qualifications
  • 10 years of substantial experience in sales and account management
  • 5 years of relevant experience in sales leadership role
  • Proven track of successful negotiation, planning and development, customer management and managing remote teams skills
