We are looking for a Financial Controlling Manager to join our team in Turkey.

The position is located in Istanbul. You will report the VP, Finance, who sits in the management team in DFDS BU Mediterranean.


About the role

As a Financial Controlling Manager, you will manage financial reporting and accounting functions. Your key role will include actual reporting of financial statements to DFDS group and preparation of key management reports. Your role will also include financial analysis of actual figures in order to provide the business insight required to measure performance. You are expected to influence the decision-making process through using financial analysis, develop business and financial insight, provide feedback for budget & forecasting processes, and play an important role in value creation. Completeness and correctness of actual figures; identifying and managing financial risks will be among your key accountabilities.

You will also manage the accounting team that is headed by an experienced accounting manager. This team is responsible for all accounting transactions, local accounting and tax reports. You are expected to bring efficiencies to current processes and flows that are performed.
In addition to these ongoing roles, Financial Controlling Manager will be the Finance lead for the new ERP project in the Turkish Business unit which will start in a couple of months. Within the scope of this project, the Turkish business unit will replace its current local ERP tool with the new international ERP tool which will be implemented in all other business units.

We think that you have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance or related disciplines,
• Work experience minimum 10-12 years in Big4 + sector experience especially in IFRS reporting, accounting and financial controlling areas,
• Comprehensive knowledge of IFRS Group reporting and TTK Reports
• Excellent command of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint (advanced level of Excel is a must),
• Excellent command of spoken and written English is a must,
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local accounting rules,
• Proactive and results-oriented work to achieve results,
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a deadline-oriented environment,
• Team oriented, team management and strong communication skills.


Who are you?

• Directly responsible for Financial Controlling/Reporting and Accounting teams,
• Managing and coordinating monthly Group reporting,
• Managing financial controlling activities for the Group companies in Turkey,
• Working directly with Group Financial Control Team in Denmark, and Finance Business Partners and CFO for analysing and communicating actual vs budget/forecast deviations for all financial statements and calculation of KPI’s in actual figures,
• Close coordination with the accounting department, preparation and submission of accurate and timely actual financial statements and month-end reports,
• Ensure timely preparation of the detailed routine and ad-hoc internal & external financial and managerial reports,
• Be a proactive member in the integration process of the new ERP system next year,
• Coordinating audit process with auditors within the Company,
• Ensuring compliance with statutory law and financial regulations.
